Zangaroa Revives "VGRC" Brand - Zangaroa Blog Undergoes Facelift

For Immediate Release on January 14, 2010 8:22 PM | Permalink

The Internet - After being shelved in August 2009, Zangaroa Enterprises announced early this morning their intention to revive the VGRC brand name.

VGRC, which launched in July 2003, ran continuously as a video game news and reviews blog until last August, when it was absorbed into the Zangaroa Network and retooled as a general entertainment and internet culture blog, dubbed, "The Zangaroa Blog."

Speaking over a private VOIP conferencing session, public relations czar Carlo Von Sexron expressed regret over shelving the VGRC name.

"While the time had come for VGRC as strictly a game-oriented website, in hindsight the time had not come for VGRC." Indeed, despite functioning as nothing more than a 301 redirect, the VGRC.net domain has continued to hold a surprisingly strong presence with search engine behemoth Google.

The blog, which is once again running on the VGRC.net domain, will continue to function as before, focusing on topics such as music, the internet, culture jamming, and of course, gaming.

"Bringing back the VGRC name will not change the content of the blog. It will continue to cover a wide variety of topics, based off the interests of its readers and its editorial staff," assured Carlo. "VGRC will continue to function as the creative outlet of the Zangaroa community. Plus, this gives us the opportunity to revive old VGRC features from our archives," he continued, referring to the 2008 relaunch of the site that resulted in much of the 2003-2007 content being lost to the public.
